Rationale for the Programme
The demand for business educators and administrators has been on the increase in recent years. This increased demand has largely been due to the expansion of business education in both public and private training institutions especially at the second cycle level. The supply of this caliber of human resource has however not matched the demand. The problem has been exacerbated by the phasing out of the B. A. (Secretary ship) programme of the University which also had an education component and thereby produced graduates with the requisite skills to fill that gap. The B. Ed (Management) programme comes as a ready substitute and is packaged to meet the ever-growing demand for business educators and administrators for national development.
Goal of the Programme
In line with the vision and mission of University of Cape Coast, the goal of the programme is to train highly qualified graduates who will be academically and occupationally versatile. Thus, the programme seeks to prepare high caliber personnel for the fields of business education and administration in Ghana and beyond.
Objectives of the Programme
The programme seeks to achieve the objectives listed below:
Develop competencies, knowledge and skills of students to enable them to operate effectively as tutors in second cycle public and private institutions.
Equip students with management and entrepreneurial skills to make them function effectively as corporate administrators in the public and private sectors of the economy.
To prepare students for higher academic and professional pursuits.
